Frequently Asked Questions
How does 9-ball scoring work?
Tap the BALLS button during a rack and pick the numbered ball that was just made — it's credited to whichever player is shooting. Long-press a ball to mark it dead instead (nobody scores). Small colored chips under each player show exactly which balls they made that rack.
What is APA handicap scoring, and how do I turn it on?
It's the official American Poolplayers Association skill-level system — 9-ball's point ladder (14 to 75+ points depending on skill level) and 8-ball's games-must-win matrix, calculated automatically instead of needing a lookup card. Turn it on with the "Use APA handicap" switch when starting a new match.
How do round robin tournaments work?
Build a roster of players (with skill levels if you want handicapping), and the app generates a randomized all-play schedule. Score each matchup live from the Tourneys tab — this is a separate scoring flow from your regular matches, so tournament games (which are often against guests) don't affect your personal stats or streaks.
How do I back up my matches, or move to a new phone?
Go to Settings and use "Share as spreadsheet" or "Share full backup" to export your data via Mail, Messages, Files, or any app your device offers. There's no cloud sync or account — this export is currently the way to move your history to a new device.
Is my data private?
Yes. Cue it Up has no account, no sign-in, and no internet connection required — every match, stat, and trophy stays on your device unless you deliberately share or export it. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
I found a bug or have a feature idea — how do I report it?
